100% Limescale Removal
Limescale is one of the most common problems homeowners have to deal with. Clack softeners are the permanent solution to ensure 100% limescale removal. Once installed, you’ll immediately witness the difference in your home water quality.
Limescale causes build up in pipes, boilers, washing machines and the household appliances. Just 1.6mm of scale build up in heating systems causes a 12% loss in heating efficiency adding €100s to heating bills. Scale also reduces the life of this equipment. However, softened water stops scale build up, and can remove existing scale deposits in hot water systems as well as the scale around taps, in shower heads and stains on baths and showers.
Silky Skin and Softer Laundry
Softened water has a clean silky feeling. Showers feel luxurious, hair is left feeling soft and bath time is full of bubbles. Laundry feels softer and it reduces the use of detergent and other chemicals.
Our water softeners use over 40% less water than a conventional softener during regeneration.
Built to last, high strength corrosion resistant fiberglass, polyethylene tank and prefilled premium-grade ion resin specially purified for household use. It is both food grade and free from chlorinated solvents (Solvent Free).
Clack Volumetric Controlled
Featuring the WS1CI valve from market leaders Clack. Perfect for the average sized family, it can easily cater up to six people. Our Volumetric range measure the amount of water used and then regenerates accordingly. This ensures supply always meets demand. The amount of salt and water can be reduced by as much as 50% compared to timer models. We recommend that the Clack Water Softener uses Hydrosoft tablet salt to regenerate and clean its bed of ion exchange resin.

What size softener do I need?
The size of the softener depends on the water hardness in your area, the number of people in your house hold and what the water is used for. Typically each person uses 100 to 160 litres per day, therefore, a four person household typically uses 500 litres of water per day. A single tank softener needs to supply 1500 litres of water between regenerations, so, the softener regenerates every 3rd or 4th day (minimising regeneration waste water). The amount of water a softener supplies between regenerations depends on the local hardness of the water. This varies everywhere but can be checked with your local water provider.
Are there other parts or items required for water softener install?
Connection hoses – One in and one out. The first hose connects your mains hard water supply to your softener. The second returns soft water from your water softener to your water system. Buy the same size hoses as your pipes.
Connection Fittings – Our softeners come with 1 set of fittings ¾ inch fittings. However fittings are inexpensive and interchangeable so you can buy different size fittings which makes our softeners compatible with all plumbing.
Waste pipe – The water softener flushes brine out of the waste pipe during its regeneration.
Over flow pipe – Overflow pipes allow water to overflow to a safe location in case of a malfunction.
By-pass valve – Your local plumbing code may require you to install a by-pass valve before your softener. A by-pass valve allows you to by-pass the water softener in the event of a problem. Our water softeners come with a free by-pass valve pre fitted so there is no need to purchase.
Can I drink softened water?
The acceptable level of Sodium in drinking water is 200mg per litre, a water softener can adds about 10mg per litre. However, if you are concerned then you can install a filter tap or leave a drinking tap with hard water.
